| Reviews of Vancouver Park Plaza |
I was very pleased with my recent stay at Park Plaza Hotel in Vancouver,
B.C. I was on the fifth floor and had a fantastic view of False Creek, Granville
Island, downtown Vancouver and the mountains beyond. I enjoyed watching the
boats and seeing the city lights come up in the evening. I had everything I
needed in my room (including a microwave and frig), and everything functioned
perfectly, including the heat when it turned chilly. All of the hotel staff were
friendly, professional and helpful. I even received a call a half-hour after
check-in, to see if I needed anything. That was a first for me. There
was a drugstore (which also sold food) across the street, and bus stops were
right near the hotel. It was a quick two block walk to the sea wall foot and
bike path as well as a park. I was close enough
to walk to Granville Island where I could pick up a water taxi. All in all, a
wonderful stay for a good price.
Very well priced. Rooms are clean and reasonably updated. Bed is comfortable.
Bathroom is simple but nice. Air conditioner is quiet and modern. Only negative
is the loud closing front door to the room, keep the air on and you won't be
bothered.
We just got back from staying at this Park Plaza this weekend. The hotel is
OK. Yes, it looks like it has been newly renovated. However it is much smaller
than the pictures leads you to think. Our room was on the 6th floor (highest
floor) facing the street. You could hear some street noise, but it wasn't bad.
The staff was pretty nice but not knowledgeable. However when we asked for
breakfast suggestions - they told us there was nothing nearby except an A&W at
the end of the block. We then found 3 places on the same block that served
breakfast, and A&W was on another block.
We had a king room. It was small. The bathroom was REALLY small - it was a one
person bathroom. Ventilation could've been better - the fan in the bathroom
didn't do much. There was an air conditioner unit in the room - which I thought
was outdated, most hotels should have central air!
We probably wouldn't stay here again. We probably will try the Holiday Inn down
the same street - pretty much the same price, but rooms are better, I think.
We paid $160/night - which I thought was pricey for what you got. |
